MARKETING #4

KEEP TRACK OF CUSTOMERS PREFERENCES/LLEVA UN REGISTRO DE TUS CLIENTES

David Weiman suggests to have a record of what do you sell and who do you sell to.
You need to do a market research and know what is selling.
If making jewellwry is your bussines you need to know what it sells. That's true, but what about making things that you like?

I hate doing things that I wouldn't wear myself. It just doesn't feel right.

I remember working as a bathroom designer in London that I used to design every single bathroom as if it was going to be mine. And it worked for me. The customers loved the fact that I had though of every single detail. Not just how beautiful it was but how useful it was. I just didn't feel comfortable selling stuff that we had to get rid of. It isn't me. But it is also true, that if that something fitted right with my design, then I would use it, instead of something else.

(This is a bathroom I designed/Este es un bano que disene)

What I got from this is that I can only sell what I would buy. It may not be the best approach for a business, I know, but since I want to make of this my own business, I need to be happy with what I am doing but also make it work.

I am not saying that I just close my eyes to what is going on, I would be lying, but I focus on the things that I enjoy making, rather than on what other people is selling. So far I can say that it is working. Probably because when you put your heart on something you created, it sells by itself.

No me parece bien.

Y me funcionaba.

I completly agree! I find it very hard to make things that are not to my taste.
