My first home party!!

For the las couple of days I have been a busy bee.

Yesterday I had my first home party and it was a blast! Not that I sold much, but considering that we are in August and most people are or have spent their money on holidays I did quite well.
Actually among other things I sold two of my favourite pieces: my only brass bracelet and a hammered necklace with Laura Sparling beads.

My very good friend Patri and her mum came a bit early to help me set the jewellery and my mum and my sister helped me getting the living room ready, and they did a great job as everything looked fantastic!
We decided to go for a green and floral look to take advantage of the many leaves we can get from the garden right now.

I had been reading a lot about doing home parties and although I implemented everything I've read (or at least tried) I was a bit nervous because first of all, I didn't know how many people were coming.

Some people who confirmed they were coming didn't turned out and people who didn't tell me did. Don't I live in a great country?
So there I was, preparing cake and drinks for an unknown number of guests without knowing if the amount of jewellery prepared was going to be enough and hoping for not too many or too few to show up.

We might not be the most organized banch of people but we know for sure how to have fun.
Most of my family came to see what I do and to show some support as also few friends did.
I had the chance not only to show my jewellery and to give out cards for them to promote my shop but to catch up with many of them.

Some of them came with their children, and well prepared as they brought their swimming custom with them. They had the best day ever!
At the end we ended up out in the garden chatting and laughing. It might not be the best marketing tool but it was great to see so many loved ones together and at the same time achieve the goals I had set for the party.

So yes, I call it a success.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Estos últimos días he estado liadísima.

Treassury Challenge by Copper Diem

Well, here it is! An Etsy Treasury inspired Blog Hop!

I loved the Treasury that Amy sent, it spoke to me about travelling, France and old times.

As soon as I saw this Treasury I new I had to use brass as it spoke vintaj to me. The only problem was that I didn't have anything at all on my stash that it could work nicely with this concept as I only use sterling silver.
It was a good thing that I am in Seville right now as it easyer for me to go places when I am here, specially now that I cannot drive. So my dad took me to a quite nice place to get few things.
This shop didn't have quite what I was looking for, but I got some things and that had to work as I can't do much shopping right now, it is way too tiring.

And this is what I got. My very first vintaj inspired piece of jewelry.
So, what do you think?

I made this bracelet using brass elements,
I made a three chain bracelet with some charms and to add that bit of pastel colours I have used two spacers made by Laura Sparling. It fitted just perfect. Just a dash of colour in this three chain bracelet.
The pictures don't show how pretty this two beads are.

The Summer of colours gran finale

It is so sad it is over.
I have really enjoyed myself taking part on this event. It has helped me to stretch myself and think out of the box.
When I finally decided to only make bracelets for this event I also decided to make them very different from each other.
I leave you with some photographs that my newest very best friend has helped me to take. But I actually missed to photograph two of the bracelets! How did that happen I don't know.
Well, he took the pictures, I just made the bracelets and helped him to prepare the setting.
(I will talk further about David some other time)

Blue - Summer in London

Green - Bronte (Picture not taken by David, can you tell?)

Pink - Holly

Yellow - Sunny

Brown - Luisa (No David's pictures)

Purple - Mora

Brown - Andy

Summer of colours - "Leaves" Bracelet

You might be wondering where I have been lately.

Well, I have been a bit all over the place.
If there is something that I love about beeing in Seville is that I get to do lots of things!

I have been doing rehab for my leg and hip daily. I am getting better, but still I have a long way to go, so I need too keep it up.
I have been doing some more exercise by doing some shopping, and more shopping. Love that kind of exercise!! Don't you?
I went to see my grandma, who gave me a sewing machine!! Do you remember ho many times I've talked about me longing for one. Well, I have got it now, and I better start learning how to use it. Isn't she the best granny on hearth? Love her to bits (even if she didn't give me that sewing machine).
I had family coming over to see me and the girls. Loving it!
Oh yes! And I forgot that it was my baby sister's birthday party! She turned 23!

Overall I have just been enjoying the weather, the swimming pool, and my family. The only thing is that I miss my other half, but he will join us in three weeks time.

So with all this going on I missed my favourite colour in the Twinkle Twinkle challenge; Purple.
I have made quite a few purple bracelets, altough not for this chalenge.
I am thinking on making one for the showing off next week.

Now. For this week's challenge we had to work with Orange.
Orange is a great colour!! I love to decorate with it. I have loads of orange things around the house but it is not a colour that I would use to dress myself with.
In fact on my wedding day I used Orange as the main colour. I got married outdoors in Summer, so it worked perfect with all the green of the venue, a beautiful garden.
(I will dig some photographs once I am back home to show you)

When I read about being orange this week's challenge, I thought of bright colours, sunshine and don't ask me why watermelon (I know it is not orange at all!).  It is such a happy colour!
But then, when Autumn comes everything turnes orange, but a softer shade of orange. Pumkins, trees, soil, even the light and the air feels orange.
I love Autumn. I have always done. It is the season of change, when everything dies to become alive again.
It is like life itself, where we have to die to ourselves to let everything come alive, specially relationships. Isn't it true? Then it also makes me think of Jesus, where he had to die, so we could live. Fascinating!

Back to my piece!
I decided to go for the Autumn sort of orange and this is what I got.
Sterling silver with CZ's, loads of sparkling Swarovski crystals and of course a leave shape clasp.
It so beautiful. I am so sorry that the picture dont make it any justice. The spark, the bling but at the same time the soft colours makes it so worth having it.
I hope you like it as much as I do.
