Bead Soup Blog Party 2014

I know I have been out of the web for a while, but things have been quite busy in the last year or so.
For instance, I just had another baby. Yes, that makes three girls all together, being the oldest just six years old. And I am still trying to figure things out. And the little free time that I get I just go to sleep. Oh sleep. How I have missed you.

But even though everything is a bit chaotic right now I didn't want to miss this wonderful event that Lori from Pretty Things hosts every year.

On this occasion I have been paired with Ana Krepel from Slovenia. Go over her blog to check what I sent her and what she has done with it.

This is what she sent me. A lovely rainbow of colours.

And this is what I made with it.

On the first piece I have use the lovely ceramic focal bead, the chain and the clasp that I got from Ana plus some pink mother of pearl beads that I had in my stash, pink wire and pink cord.
I am loving how this piece has turned out.
I love the colour and the textures, although I might have to re do it as I am not happy with the wirework quality and finish.
It is the first time I have used this wire ant it is so soft that I have left marks on almost every single loop, but overall I believe that this is a nice piece to wear now that Summer is coming.
Just imagine wearing skinny jeans, a plain white t-shirt, pinkish flip flops and this necklace. Lovely!

This second piece is by far my favourite.
It´s got a romantic fleur that I love.
The enamel beads Ana sent me are so airy and delicate, and as soon as I saw them I knew what I wanted to do.
At first I wanted to use copper as the colour really suited the beads and the Moonstone Apricote, but as I have never set anything in copper before I decided to go with what I knew, sterling silver.
I know that silver makes this piece more expensive, but I just went with it.
For the chain I got the idea from a Spanish artist called Jana Stribel. You could find her in Facebook as I believe she doesn´t have a blog. She is really good working with wire.

Please let me know what you think as it is always helpful to know what other people think. Thanks for visiting!! And see you soon!!

By the way, if you want to look at a the work of all the participants follow this link to get the list of blogs.

I really love how you mixed different metal in both designs: pink with silver and apricot with silver. You make it look so natural, s organic!
The playful design of the first necklace with the pink cord makes me pine for summer :-)

You're right, the first necklace will be perfect for summer with a pair of jeans and a plain shirt!
The second necklace is very pretty as well, but I prefer the first one. Colors, colors. colors :-)

Those are just beautiful, especially the second necklace - I love the warmth of the apricot and the shimmer of the silver.

I really liked the first piece, but you are right, the secon piece is very lovely! Great job, great soup!

I love the second necklace! Pairing the beads with silver was the perfect choice, copper might have destroyed the light and airy feel of the piece making it more earthy in nature.

You have chosen neon colors - perfect for the summer tan! I'd rather picture them with white or creamy linen ethnic type of blouse or dress against summer tan skin. I love the colors in of the second necklace but have to admit that the combination of textures in the first is very interesting.

Congratulations on your third little girl. You must be incredibly busy. Your necklaces are lovely. I like that they are shiny and have lots of texture with the materials you used in addition to the beads. Nicely done. I like that they are delicate and feminine.

Beautiful work. Both necklaces are lovely. The second necklace has such a romantic feel. I'm amazed you took bead soup on with having three little kids. I hope when the time comes you teach them to bead :-)

I do love that romantic look also, but that first piece has its charm. It's not often I find something I like to wear with jeans and flip flops. Cool!

Lovely work. The silver paired with the peachy apricot beads is beautiful and light. It would have worked with the copper too, but would have had a very different and darker more earthy different feel.
